Hey there lovely readers!
I just wanted to remind you that I've created a Yahoo discussion group to go along with this blog. You can join at any time by signing up in the side-bar, or you can follow this link: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wantmyya
Right now the group consists of me and 4 other people, come on, join, bring a friend, and let's get some chatter going. :)
My name is Heather M. Riley and I became a blogger because I'm obsessed with books. I read all genres, but I have a special love for Young Adult novels. Come and obsess with me as I discuss YA titles new and old through reviews, interviews, features, and the occasional giveaway.

Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Mantchev
Hello again my lovely readers! I've got another FABULOUS read for ya. :) I received this one a while back and I was SO FREAKING EXCITED for it. I totally ignored the other book I'd started because I couldn't hold off on reading this one any longer.

the info:

Eyes Like Stars
by Lisa Mantchev
ISBN: 9780312380960
Feiwel & Friends
the story:
Ok, since I'm afraid my synopsis will give too much away, I'm posting the jacket copy description for ya.
All her world’s a stage.
Bertie Shakespeare Smith is not an actress, yet she lives in a theater.
She’s not an orphan, but she has no parents.
She knows every part, but she has no lines of her own.
That is, until now.
Enter Stage Right
NATE. Dashing pirate. Will do anything to protect Bertie.
COBWEB, MOTH, MUSTARD SEED, and PEASEBLOSSOM. Four tiny and incredibly annoying fairies. BERTIE’S sidekicks.
ARIEL. Seductive air spirit and Bertie’s weakness. The symbol of impending doom.
BERTIE. Our heroine.
Welcome to the Théâtre Illuminata, where the actors of every play ever written can be found behind the curtain. They were born to play their parts, and are bound to the Théâtre by The Book—an ancient and magical tome of scripts. Bertie is not one of them, but they are her family—and she is about to lose them all and the only home she has ever known.

my thoughts:
Love it, love it, love it! I'm totally hooked on this book and I can't wait for more. Bertie is a great character and so easy to love. The fairies are hilarious and can always be depended upon for some great one-liners. ("Do you feel any more free?" "Yes, but that's because I'm not wearing any underwear.")
Eyes Like Stars is a tale of magic and mystery, but at its heart it's all about Bertie. It's about a young girl finding her strength while trying to solve the riddle of her past. While some questions find their answers by the end of this story, others won't be answered until later. Which only ensures that I'll be wating none too patiently for Lisa Mantchev's next book Perchance to Dream.
I know I say it with every book I review, but I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it, so here it goes: Go out and pre-order or reserve your copy NOW! Seriously, you won't be sorry. Lisa Mantchev has penned a tale that will hold you captive (and you'll like it!).

The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod: Tenth Grade Bleeds by the Fangtastic Heather Brewer
Woohoo! It's almost here! Well, for the rest of you it's almost here. lol I've already read it. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to read and review Tenth Grade Bleeds for Heather. I've been such a huge fan from the beginning and Vlad just keeps getting better.

the info:
The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod: Tenth Grade Bleeds
by Heather Brewer
Dutton Children's (Penguin)
ISBN: 9780525421351
the story:
Well, it's another year at Bathory High School, and a whole new set of challenges for Vladimir Tod. To make matters worse his Uncle Otis is going to leave him, insisting that it's not safe to remain in one place for very long. Vlad feels there is so much more to be learned from the older vampire, but at the same time, training with Otis just keeps reminding Vlad of what a freak he is in the vampire world. Vlad is the only half-vampire, half-human in existence, something that has many believing he is the legendary Pravus. If the legends are true he will one day rule over vampires and enslave humans. As if worrying about passing his classes and the return of his middle school principal weren't bad enough.
Despite all of the craziness and the danger that Vlad has experienced in the past few years, he always knew he could depend on one person: Henry. Henry's been his best friend since childhood and through an accidental bite is also Vlad's drudge (human slave). But right when Vlad needs him the most, Henry seems to be pulling away and Vlad's not sure what to do.
Vlad's also having nightmares and he hasn't been able to reach his Uncle Otis since Otis' departure. Could the nightmares be foretelling the future? Or is something more sinister afoot?
my thoughts:
Like I said in the beginning, Heather Brewer just keeps on getting better. I was so absorbed by Vlad's story, I just had to keep going to see what was going to happen next. I absolutely love Vladimir Tod and I'm practically drooling for the next book.
Tenth Grade Bleeds is amazing! Rush out and reserve or pre-order your copy today. If you haven't read any Vlad yet, well you've been under a rock, but we can fix that. :) While you're pre-ordering TGB, pick up Eighth Grade Bites and Ninth Grade Slays. Once you've got those two, start reading. lol Those should tide you over til Tenth Grade Bleeds releases somewhere towards the end of June, beginning of July.
Thanks again Heather for the wonderful book! And thank you readers for stopping by! Keep on reading!

Sorry No Interview
Sorry there was no interview to post today. I do have some scheduled for the months ahead, but I can always use more. :) You know the drill, if you want to be interviewed send me an email to wantmyya at gmail dot com and I'll send you the interview questions.
Keep checking back this week for more fun. I've got a great review of a FANTASTIC book coming up soon. (or maybe that should be FANGTASTIC?)
And don't forget about the poll in the sidebar. You can have a say in what I review, but you've got to VOTE.
Have a great week all!
